TheCompany is dedicated to providing products that are not only innovative but designed to overcome st complex wood finishing challenges. With a strong and lasting connection to the community, Sayerlack celebrates 70 years of collaboration and remains committed to building innovative products that will drive the business now and into the future.
To celebrate this important anniversary, Sayerlack has designed and created an educational design library, which has been donated to the Pianoro municipal playroom (LudoLab), a center for children and families living and working in the community. The library includes 70 books dedicated to young readers.
The bookcase, conceived as an educational experience, celebrates art and the world of colour through a three-dimensional chromatic scale. The idea is to introduce children to the concept of primary, secondary and tertiary colours in an intuitive and creative way. The primary colours (red, yellow and blue) are represented through rectangular shapes, which symbolise the base of the chromatic scale. The secondary colours (green, orange, purple and light blue), derived from the combination of the primaries, are instead associated with rounded shapes, creating a visual and tactile contrast to promote learning. Finally, the tertiary colours, obtained by combining the primaries and the adjacent secondaries, are represented in the beams of the bookcase shelves: for example, the union of purple and red creates fuchsia, while yellow and green give life to lime.
This unique bookcase represents the deep bond between the world of wood, coatings and colours, paying homage to the heart of Sayerlack’s operations. Through the design and the material used, the bookcase evokes the synergy between the natural wood material and the infinite variety of shades that coatings can create, combining aesthetics and functionality.
