AZL 3500/XX is a single-component thixotropic waterborne topcoat that is elastic and long-lasting, and therefore ideal for protecting exterior wood.
Suitable for joinery and outdoor wooden items, this topcoat has been added to the Sayerlack product range in order to meet a number of specific industrial requirements for clarity, water resistance, and ease of use and application.
Thanks to its special UV filter, AZL 3500/XX also guarantees effective protection against ultraviolet rays. It features a high level of water permeability, no ‘’blocking’’ phenomena, dries quickly, and does not come away even if painted over soon afterwards.
Formulated with latest generation polymers, AZL 3500/XX is a significant step forward from the AZ 3430/XX and AZ 3230/XX products it replaces. In fact, it stands out from the other single-component topcoats for exteriors in the range on account of its high level of adhesion in damp conditions and its superior water resistance, which allow this topcoat to guarantee long lasting performance even in areas with extreme humidity. Plus, there is no chance of white patches appearing on the coating film as the product is not affected by water.
The product is available as a 30 gloss in transparent /00, larch /85, teak /89 and walnut /92.
It can be applied with a spray or an airmix, airless or electrostatic cup using tools designed for waterborne products and on woods suitable for exterior use. Thanks to its superior versatility, the product can be used in automatic industrial systems and craft systems that are mostly manual.
AZL 3500/00 is transparent during application, so the user can see the final colour of the article, even while it is drying. The product’s covering power is similar to that of classic topcoats in the Sayerlack range. AZL 3500/00 can be coloured using XA 4034/XX and XA2006/XX series waterborne pastes.
AZL 3500/89 has achieved the highest results – excellent – on all the tests conducted, which include the Gardner Colour Scale, Accelerated Weathering (QUV-A) EN 927-6, Natural Exposure EN 927-3, Resistance to Cold Liquids UNI EN 12720 and Adhesion in Damp Conditions EN 927-8.
This product has been developed with superior protection in mind, so thanks to the AZ 3500/XX shield, dampness will no longer stop joinery from enjoying a long life.
