The Sayerlack offer
Sayerlack has a comprehensive offering for the furniture sector. You can opt for solvent-based or water-based varnishes, or oils.
Our range of solvent-based varnishes includes:
- primers
- base-topcoats
- topcoats in polyurethanes paint, polyurethane acrylics, aromatic free polyurethanes, high-solids polyurethanes, non isocyanate polyurethanes, polyesters, styrene-free polyesters, moisture cure, UV cured coating systems.
Coating systems can be:
- clear or pigmented with various levels of gloss
- with textured surface finishes, for a structured effect, or as smooth as silk.
Sayerlack’s water-based coatings, on the other hand, come in single-pack and two-pack and UV-cured systems. They can be clear or pigmented, gloss or matt for a natural effect. Surface performance meets the requirements of the strictest standards. Systems that can withstand the most demanding situations, such as kitchen environments, with their excellent stain resistance, or bathrooms, with their exceptional moisture resistance.
The Sayerlack range is completed with oils – clear, pigmentable, 100% natural, solvent- and water-based – for protection and maintenance.
No wood finishing arsenal would be complete without a range of stains, patinas, glazes and water- or solvent-based pigmented pastes, to achieve any colour or effect and enhance the wood.
An environment-friendly attitude is increasingly spreading, aiming at safeguarding the operators’ and the end-users’ health. For this reason, furniture is more being coated with products with the least emission of solvents. Both during the painting stage and in the final slow stage of the drying, which usually occurs at home and liberates unpleasant odours. Sayerlack Hydroplus is the brand of the best waterborne coatings for interiors.
How to choose coating for wooden furniture
The appearance is critical in the coating of furniture and its accessories. The Hydroplus waterborne products result in finishes that cannot be differentiated from those obtained with solvent-based products, ensuring a mechanical and chemical resistance level comparable to that of polyurethane two-pack topcoats.
However, these results can only be reached by following some instructions that help the process obtain the best performance of the coatings. The naturally variable nature of wood means that it must be carefully prepared prior to coating. The use of top-quality materials will also give the best results.
One-pack waterborne coatings have no pot-life problems like the conventional polyurethane solvent-based products. They are simple and ready to use as the product can be recovered and used again provided it is poured in its original can and carefully sealed.
Thus avoiding a prolonged contact with air, or immediately reused after having recovered its viscosity by diluting with water.
Recommended Sayerlack products
From Sayerlack R&D laboratories comes an innovative solution for enhancing and preserving the unique natural beauty of wood.
AF0618/00 is a new waterborne two component self-sealer offering an advanced level of physical and chemical performance. Exceptionally resistant to writing, scratching, staining, detergents and yellowing from light exposure, the product can be used on all interior furnishings: not just doors, bedrooms or living rooms, but kitchen and bathrooms too.
What makes this product so special is that it achieves these spectacular results on light colored timbers with a near zero gloss finish. Even if these surfaces aren’t easy to protect from stains like wine, coffee and ammonia.
At the same time, it maintains optimal transparency on dark woods. Its isolation of high tannin wood is outstanding, as it doesn’t require an isolating basecoat. Exceptional results have been achieved on reconstituted veneers with no changes in color tone thanks to optimum light protection. If a specific hardener is used the product is also suitable for thermo treated timbers, which are becoming increasingly popular.
Water-based one-pack coating system for interiors
The refined lines of contemporary design stand out for their solid and concrete sobriety and a suppleness that, in line with housing developments, features increasingly multiform and multifaceted spaces, multi-tasking environments designed for socialising and relaxation.

Acrylic high gloss self-healing topcoat
TLV3778/00 is an acrylic high gloss topcoat with high build, glossy, and performing like a standard acrylic coating. But with the ability of self heal most part of the damages due to mechanical stress.
Clear opaque acrylic topcoat TZL3731/00 SILKY FEEL, designed for the flat parts of furniture, gives matte surfaces, beautiful depth of colour, and a tactile softness which is comparable to that of silk. Opacity becomes warm and touch is soft and natural.

The soft matte tone is warmed by the effect of the topcoat: clean and minimalist elegance, almost elemental, sophisticated and refined by the tactile experience.
The acrylic formula provides excellent resistance to light exposure and significant chemical and physical resistances, even at low angles. By touching the matte surface finished with SILKY FEEL, the skin meets the wood fiber, soft and caressing as silk.
